ROTOMOLDING
Rotational Molding Services from EnviCor
At EnviCor, rotational molding is more than a service we provide–it is our specialty, our passion, and our calling card. With decades of experience and an impeccable reputation for excellence, we specialize in the design and production of high-performance rotomolded products that meet the exacting needs of a diverse customer base. From durable containers and tanks to custom-engineered components and assemblies, our in-depth knowledge and advanced processes ensure efficient, economical production of high-quality products guaranteed to perform and endure.
Rotomolding for Consistent Results
Rotational molding, also called rotomolding, is a versatile, economical method of producing hollow, seamless plastic parts and products. Everything from kayaks to storage tanks, to store mannequins can be made through rotational molding. Because it relies on heat and constant rotational motion rather than pressure to distribute the plastic inside the mold, rotomolding delivers uniform wall thickness and seamless unibody construction that usually requires little or no additional finishing.
ADVANTAGES
FLEXIBILITY & CUSTOMIZATION
Rotational molding leaves greater leeway to make changes to the design much further into the process. It also allows for a great variety of features and graphics to be incorporated into the molding process.
STRENGTH & DURABILITY
The process results in consistent wall thickness for stronger parts with no seams or weak spots. It is also very compatible with plastics that are highly resistant to chemicals, abrasion, and UV degradation.
COST-EFFECTIVENESS
Compared with injection molding and blow molding, rotomolding is less expensive and produces less waste.
4 STAGES OF
ROTATIONAL MOLDING
Charging
Charging is the loading of the powdered plastic material into its metal mold, supported by a spindle. Once loaded, the mold is sealed and the spindle moves it to the heater.
Heating
In the heating chamber, the spindle slowly rotates the mold along both horizontal and vertical axes to ensure that, as the plastic powder melts, it thoroughly and evenly coats the interior walls of the mold.
The heating phase must be precisely timed to avoid overheating the plastic, which can result in a part of inferior quality. Conversely, underheating the mold can cause issues as well, such as uneven wall thickness or air bubbles.
Cooling
When the plastic has thoroughly melted and coated the mold as desired, fans or water are used to slowly cool the mold and solidify the plastic. Cooling must be performed at the right pace to avoid warping.
Embedded sensors inside the mold alert operators to the temperature of the plastic, so there is no guess work as to when to begin removal.
Removal
Once the plastic has cooled and fully hardened, the mold is carefully opened and the finished part is extracted.
SUSTAINABILITY
At EnviCor, sustainability is at the core of our operations. We are leaders in sustainable manufacturing with a steadfast commitment to environmental responsibility and a true zero-landfill policy for plastics.
100% Recycling
We recycle 100% of the plastic material that enters our facility. Nothing is wasted.
Closed-Loop Process
Through our in-house granulation and pulverization systems, we transform post-industrial scrap and off-specification parts back into high-quality, reusable powder. This recycled material is then fed back into our production cycle to create new, durable products.
Zero Landfill Commitment
No plastic scrap or waste from our processes is ever sent to a landfill. All materials are reprocessed and reused in a closed-loop system.
Sustainable Material Choice
We offer our customers the option to choose products made from recycled content, providing a high-performance and eco-conscious solution without compromising on quality or durability.
Our recycling capabilities demonstrate our dedication to reducing environmental impact while delivering the strong and reliable rotomolded parts our customers depend on.
