Water Tank for Freshwater Transportation
EnviCor manufactures many different high-quality products, with custom molding capabilities that are well known throughout the industry. They were enlisted for important humanitarian work when an earthquake in Haiti destroyed most of the local potable water systems. EnviCor worked with NGO International Action and haitiwater.org to develop a large, 1600 gallon, above-ground potable water tank for the storage of freshwater. They employed their advanced equipment and expert technicians for CAD design, mold design, rotary molding, cutting, trimming, mold inserting, and spin welding to fabricate this custom water tank. It is essential for this tank to be cost-effectively shipped to Haiti in large quantities to support recovery efforts, so the tanks are designed so that they can be nested within each other– with 34 tanks fitting in a 48-foot container. A lockable lid system is also designed into the tank that can be nested and then attached once in Haiti. From a material standpoint, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) .942 is used. The finished tanks measure 96” in length by 96” in width, with tolerances of ± 1/32”. This project took just six weeks from concept to delivery of tanks for shipment to Haiti, and continues production today.
